Janet,
I am sorry it took me awhile to write back, but I have been quite busy getting ready for the holidays and having time for lessons and training. I am sure you can understand.
Zoe walked off the trailer that Thursday quite early in the morning and walked off like an old pro. It made me quite happy to see the first thing Zoe did off the trailer in her stall was drink a half a bucket of water, and then rolled in the nice new shavings. I stayed and kept an eye on her for about an hour or so. She settled in quite quickly and ate her hay.
The next morning/early afternoon, we let Zoe out for a bit to play before Alex arrived that afternoon. Alex saw her and her eyes lit up with joy and then she turned to look at her mother and I with a GIANT SMILE and stated, "She is bigger and prettier than I thought." Then Alex jumped and said she couldn't believe Zoe was finally here. After, Alex walked Zoe around the indoor and outside rings. Zoe seemed to be quite impressed with all of our colorful jumps in the indoor and curiously took Alex to look at a few of them. I initally got on Zoe before Alex later that afternoon. I rode her for about 20 minutes. I walked, trotted, cantered, and jumped a crossrail both ways. Then I put Alex on. Words could not express the happiness on Alex's face the whole time she was on Zoe. It is adorable to watch the two of them getting to know each other. Let me add, Alex is still glowing every time she has ridden Zoe.
Zoe is everything you guys said she was. I can't express how happy I am to have put the pair together and for you putting such a nice foundation on this very special pony. Thank you so much for all your details and thorough explanation of Zoe. Zoe is simply the star of the barn. She already has quite the fan club. The woman who took care of her [on layover] already called me to ask me how Zoe settled in, and what her new owners think of her. Zoe definitely already has a piece of my heart and I know a piece of Alex's and her mother's, Diane.
Zoe will be going to her first horse show with us next weekend. She will just do the Short Stirrup Division. I will make sure to tell you how she did and take pictures to scan for Chris and you to enjoy.
Thanks again and hope all is well.
